The Canberra Girls’ Programming Network is a community for female students to learn about computer programming and technology through hands-on workshops. It gives girls exposure to female role models across academia, government and industry.

Our next workshop will be held on the 5th of November.

What

The workshop topic is Microcontrollers.

We’ll be using Nicta ED1 boards to make LEDs flash, text appear on screen and learn about binary numbers.

Where

Melrose High School, Marr Street, Pearce, 2607

When

  • Sunday, 5th November, 2017
  • Please arrive by 9:45am for registration
  • Workshop begins at 10am
  • Parents and teachers invited at 3:30pm
  • Conclude by 4pm

Who

Female students from years 4 to 12.

What do I need to know

No need to have coded before! But the workshop is also suitable for students who are ready for more programming challenges.

How

You’ll need to register to attend. Please fill out the application form here and return to ASD.DISH@defence.gov.au by Monday 30th October.

You will receive information and confirmation via email prior to the workshop day. Please be aware that places are limited. If you miss out you will be added to our mailing list to ensure that you get early notification for the next event.
